Jamey Johnson coming to town

without comments

When it comes to contemporary country music, Jamey Johnson is about as authentic as you can get. Traditionalists laud his take on a musical genre so often populated these days by sleek and sexy country-pop stars, and Jamey himself is a good ol’ boy in the best sense of the term.

We profiled him for a cover story back in June, when he headlined the final “Sundown in the City” show of 2009, and his most recent album — “That Lonesome Song” — peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard country albums chart and No. 28 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Now comes word, via his website, that he’ll be performing March 20 at The Tennessee Theatre. No word yet on when tickets go on sale or how much they’ll be.
