Clay Aiken responds to reports he’s been dropped by Decca
Yesterday, celebrity blog site Perez Hilton reported that “American Idol” season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken has been dropped by his label, Decca. I just got off the phone with Clay for an interview to promote his upcoming show on Feb. 17 at The Tennessee Theatre in downtown Knoxville, and he had this to tell me about the report:
“In this 24 hour news cycle, people are so interested in getting a headline and getting it first. My deal with (Decca) has never been meant to be a long-term deal, and we’re in the process now of figuring out what we want to do next. That story is not 100 percent accurate; let’s just say that.”
