Knoxville represented well on Paste list

Paste magazine is currently in the midst of its “50 States Project,” an online roundup of the best bands you’ve never heard of from around the country.
In case you missed it last week, Tennessee’s list was released here, and East Tennessee was well-represented by three bands that we’ve chronicled a good deal over the years:
- No. 12: Plainclothes Tracy (Described as “an unassuming five-piece that manages to jump from innocent She & Him crooning to all-out grunge in a moment’s notice”)
- No. 8: The Black Cadillacs (”‘Classic Fool,’ a single off their brand new album Run, melds Smoky Mountain picking with country-style delivery and a blues-inspired melody”)
- No. 3: The Dirty Guv’nahs (”They are just not the type of band you analyze. The Dirty Guv’nahs are the type of band you dance to.”)
The No. 1 band, in case you’re curious, was the Memphis outfit Star & Micey, which we profiled back in 2009.
