Thoroughfare – Jordan + Lindsey = The Few
It seems that singer-songwriter Jordan Beach has left the band Thoroughfare, which — in his absence — has recruited a new singer and changed its name. The singer — Lindsey Stamey, who left Vertigo when that band called it quits in November.
There are damn few details on Thoroughfare’s Myspace site (and none on the Vertigo site), but it’s clear from the new band pic — as well as the recent e-mail from The Square Room, 4 Market Square in downtown Knoxville, where the band will play on Feb. 26 — that the new group, called The Few, is essentially Thoroughfare minus Jordan plus Lindsey.
Stay tuned for further developments.
Local rockers Vertigo call it quits
First the Tenderhooks, now female-fronted pop-rockers Vertigo are giving up the ghost.
Vocalist Lindsey Stamey posted a blog on the band’s Myspace page yesterday with the announcement:
“Words can not really describe the roller coaster that has been Vertigo these past few years. We have had many amazing accomplishments, but it’s time for us to start new chapters in our lives. We have been so blessed with very caring people who would do anything to help us and for that we say thank you. We have been very blessed with the best fans in the world who supported us and came out to our shows. We have 2 more shows left. The info you can find on our main page. We hope to see you there. We love you all very dearly and please keep and ear out for new things we may all do.
Lindsey”
The band’s final Knoxville show will be Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 4620 Reinvented, 4620-A Kingston Pike in Knoxville’s Bearden neighborhood. Cover is $5. The final show ever will be Friday, Nov. 20 at The Downtown in Morristown.
We interviewed the group last year when they played Thunderworld USA in Maryville. You can read that here.
